A Second Opinion - Xmen

Nostalgia can sure be a tricky emotion. It feeds off of our memories at a time when our wisdom may have not been what it is today. Sometimes nostalgia is good, maybe reuniting with an old flame. Other times, it's Xmen.

I played this game, like every other kid, wayyyy back when and it was fun though a bit hard. It had some of our favorite Xmen except for Dazzler because face it, half the people don't know who she is and the other half doesn't care. It was fun and pretty simple and that was about it. Though in my experience, if there was a Simpsons machine or Turtles in Time, they were getting my quarters instead.

I was quite hyped once I saw Xmen released on Xbox and PSN. So me and 5 other friends all purchased it for 10 dollars. And 10 minutes into it, we were all bored, and 2o minutes after that we were done. No one wanted to admit it, but it was a waste of 10 dollars. Just cause its 6 people, it doesn't add anything dynamic to the game play, it just means you can all be bored together. Basic gameplay, walk to the right, punch, use special move, die, repeat. It is bad, stay away. The only redeeming quality is the funny voice acting. " I am Magneto, master of magnet."

I don't want to hear, "oh it came out in 92 and this and that". No, the Simpsons came out in 1991 and is far superior, and although we may never see that game, it is better to spend your money elsewhere. Instead check out Castle Crashers, Scott Pilgrim, and if your on Xbox check out the ninja turtles arcade game, the original not the new Turtles in Time.
