As gamers we've all been exposed to different situations in gaming. There are events we experience as a whole, and then there are those one-off random moments that we sometimes can't even explain. But worse, there's a moment that puts a damper in your video game journey transforming it to an unpleasant and sometimes unplayable state. Here are some of my horrid experiences.
1.Automatic saving in bad spot (Killzone 2)
Automatic saving can be a life saver or deal breaker in some games. For me it became deal breaker when it happened in a very inconvenient spot during Sony's flagship first-person shooter. Killzone 2 is a good game. Aside from the annoying character Rico, I've enjoyed my adventure throughout, but till this very day I am so close to end yet because my save was in such a bad spot I keep getting pelted by a missile!
2. Grinding in RPG just to die and lose all progress (Japanese RPGs)
For some reason or another I love to grind in Japanese RPGs. There's something about spending so much time leveling your character to the point where all enemies at your current location can't seem to touch you. Some may call it power hungry, I call it pure fun except when you spend so long grinding and then you die before you save. I can't remember the exact RPG I was playing but I remember spending a crazy amount of time leveling up just to lose it all because I was being too overconfident and didn't get chance to save. It's situations like that can stop me from playing an RPG to completion!
3. Having battery run out/the cord pulled out
Imagine this: you're playing a popular first-person shooter online deathmatch and you're just beating the crap out of everyone. You're unstoppable and your killcount continues to increase, you're on top of the world until an Xbox 360 blurb pops up (and you automatically think it's an achievement) and says 'Reconnect Controller'. At your time vulnerbility you quick begin holding the Xbox guide button while watching your virtual avatar get shot up and beat down like it Compton.
4. Console stops working (Original Xbox 360)
Years ago we used to hear so much about the Xbox 360 Ring of Death, it seemed to happen to a lot of gamers. I thought I was immune to such defections until one day my Xbox 360 stopped playing discs. The system would come on but when I play a disc, it never even attemped to read it. It wasn't a red ring but systme just gave up. I finally returned the system to Microsoft....after 5 months. Now you know why I never finished Mass Effect...the first Mass Effect.
5. Catridge battery dies (Yoshi's Island GBA)
