In anticipation of Streets of Rage 4, Steve and Sterling are playing different brawler/beat ‘em up games each week until SOR4’s spring release. River City Girls is up next!
Released in Fall 2019, River City Girls is a spin-off of the River City Ransom games (Kunio-Kun franchise in Japan). Th series’ main protagonists have been kidnapped and now it is up to their girlfriends, Kyoko and Misako to save them!
While the game’s style and presentation are unique, the gameplay stays true to the core of the series; fisticuffs, looting and a side of exploration. There plenty of punks to beat and weapons to brawl with. Throughout the game, players can sue their money to purchase new moves.
