About The 8-Bit Generation

Sparked by a culmination of two friends' [Steve & Sterling] ambition to share their gaming experiences and discussions to the world; The 8-Bit Generation was born. Although the term 'The 8-Bit Generation" refers to a specific era in video game history, the site also reflects on all facets of modern gaming from their generational perspective. Their ideas, opinions and criticism all stem from witnessing the evolution of video games- 

from 8-bit to beyond.

Steve and Sterling are also the hosts of the growing YouTube show, The 8BGCast.

At three years old, Steve played Super Mario Bros. on the NES, and it was there his passion for video games started. Growing up somewhat of a Nintendo loyalist, he slowly branched out to the other major consoles during the PlayStation 2 & Xbox era. 

Steve is not only fascinated with gaming as a past-time but is also engaged by the business and culture of the video game industry.

Sterling grew up on a multitude of video game consoles, whether it was his own or his friends. In recent years, he has discovered an affinity towards PC gaming and culture. Through his tech-savviness, he has built PCs for himself as well as close friends. Despite trading in consoles for graphics cards, the one thing that remains; his love for gaming.

Sterling is also an affiliate streamer with Twitch as MajorNoFun.
